HIGHCROSS’ AUTUMN FASHION FIX: THE GUYS SIDE.
This weekend, Highcross put on its biannual high street fashion show for the current season. As we approach autumn and winter the team at Highcross, with help from Cosmopolitan magazine columnist, Laura Puddy, collaborated by putting together some new season trends. Below are some of my favourite male outfits from the event:
First off: ‘The Cosmo Edit’.
Styled by Laura Puddy, the collection featured the best of A/W fashion for men. The first outfit was from Ted Baker at John Lewis and featured a grey wool flannel blazer (£259), navy nuckbuck lace up shoes from John Lewis (£59), a jacquard floral shirt (£95), green chinos (£85), and a multicolour tapestry-inspired shawl from Accessorize (£25).
The second outfit consisted of a River Island blue loose knit jumper (£32), River Island navy smart trousers (£30) and Ask The Missus silver metallic leather brogues from Office (£69).
Both outfits highlighted the best of what Highcross shopping centre has to offer this season.
Faux fur has been incorporated recently in menswear as an extra statement to outerwear. The Reiss pale grey bluff pocket wool coat with fur collar (£295) featured in the outfit below is a perfect example of how men can wear faux fur.
The next trend was one of Natasha’s favourites and mine as it mixed floral patterns and autumnal colours to produce an amazing outfit. Featured below is the first outfit consisting of a blue and burgundy check twill short (£38), grey herringbone wool trousers (£50), a burgundy sleeveless sweater (£40) and a grey herringbone wool waistcoat ($50) all form Hammond and Co.
Shades of Red:
If you’re bold in your colour choosing, then the next look is for you. The outfit, which is from Reiss, mixes subtle tones of red with black to produce an aesthetically pleasing outfit. Consisting of a brick red t-shirt with paisley pocket detail (£35), black sports luxe lounge bottoms (£75), jet plum/grey quilted bomber jacket (£110) and a black patent sports luxe lace up shoe (£90), this outfit is sure to make you see red – in a good way!
Another one of our favourite trends proves how pastels don’t just have to be worn during the summer months. The outfit below, which is mostly from High Street favourite, River Island, features a pale pink cotton shirt (£20), grey formal trousers (£25), maroon textured blazer (£80) and black lace up desert boots (£45). The outfit is then topped off with a hounds tooth scarf from H&M (£7.99).
The last outfit from Luke mixed metallic colours with black to produce quite a unique outfit. The outfit featured below consists of a black/metallic gold speckle print t-shirt (£40), black super slim jeans (£75), black leather bomber jacket (£350) and black neoprene white solo trainer (£75), topped off with a metal snake necklace from River Island (£10).
