Note: For things such as drinks packages, they will be for you and 4 other friends (5 people). So let us begin.

9pm: Pre-drinks

So as you can see here, there is absolutely plenty to last you during your session of pre-drinking.

10:45: Time to head to Mosh

If you have been planning this night out for ages, or at least the day before, then you would have known about Mosh’s Friday guestlists. If you put the name of you and your BFFs on their events page and arrive before 11:30, then you get in free of charge. Moreover it is only £2.50 for a Jagerbomb, for what you would be paying for entry normally, you can get 2! Woo-Hoo!

Midnight: Time to pick your end-of-the-night club

For this you have one of 3 options if you want to go cheap. Firstly there is the option of staying in Mosh which is very tempting if you love strumming guitar riffs after a few.  If you would rather dance to Steps than Sum 41, you have one of 2 options.

Firstly there’s Republic with its very famous ‘Cheese’ room, playing everything from Steps to Westlife, moreover Republic has rooms that play the latest chart toppers for you to dance to as well. However Republic earns its right to be mention in this article because Friday night is SKINT night! SKINT is where Republic offers shots, beers and Vodka and mixers all for £1 per drink! Moreover normal entry is only £3 (for those who don’t think this is cheap, an average Wednesday at the SU is £4 unless you attend as part of a society).

Secondly there is Liquid which is very near to Republic. This is £5 entry which is the same price as VIP at Republic, however like Mosh, if you arrive between 9 and 11 then you get in for free! Moreover, it’s ZUU night, which means £1 shots, £2 Selected Drinks and 6 VKs for £10.00. Not to mention the jungle theming in there is absolutely fantastic with inflatable elephants, vines and animal masks all being part of the norm.

Total cost per person if you go to every club in this article: £9.11 (pres packages) + £5.00 (Mosh) + £5.00 (entry to republic + 2 beers) + £8.00 (entry to Liquid + 3 shots) = £27.11

Advice to make your money go further:

  • Do you prefer house music to pop? If yes, on April 17th (the Friday after we all go back to uni) Renegade are having their launch night at the Tunnel. It is £6 at the door however I can say that I am actually a member of the street crew which means if you message me via Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/KellyDavies16) or tweet me @cREWllypenguin2 with you and your friends names then you can get in for £4 each when you give your name at the door. If you don’t like to message or tweet, or in the unlikely case, you don’t have social media ( :-O) then you can buy advanced tickets for £4 via https://next.fatsoma.com/events/ouxhvr61?r=5bcfe740-9dd7-4b2e-aa29-b18929217b67.
  • If you love shots, then you want to go to Revolution (Revs as it is also known). For £4 you get a loyalty card with a booklet full of discounts from mojito boxes to £1 flavoured shots (and their shots are amazing).
  • Cocktail lover? Two words: Candy-Stripe. They have some of the best cocktails and you can buy two identical cocktails for £10. Not to mention the brilliant music and the counter made of Lego bricks on the way to the toilets

Disclaimer: As much as alcohol is part of student culture, one must be responsible when drinking. Please drink responsibly otherwise all the money you would’ve saved will be spent trying to bribe your friends not to upload your drunken photos onto Facebook/Twitter/ Instagram/ YouTube/ WhatsApp, Snapchat, etc. Moreover don’t go drinking alone. It is cheaper to pre-drink with friends and also it is much safer.
