Being able to group things into boxes is super helpful. It makes packing up the car easier and saves time on unpacking once you arrive. If you get the flat-pack ones they’re easily folded down to fit in any student halls. Plus if you’re slightly OCD like me then there’s something so satisfying about having a box for kitchen stuff, box for books, ect…

If you are in a shared flat having one of these literally opens up doors for you. Particularly in the first week when you’re trying to meet and get to know your flatmates (top tip: it’s also nice to offer cupcakes to gain brownie points). Later in the year it’s also a clear ‘do not disturb’ sign when you’re trying to revise as having the door closed can be a bit of a hint.

It’s inevitable there will be an event at some point during your uni experience (Freshers, Halloween, Society events) that will involve some sort of fancy dress.
Be prepared, even something simple as black face paint can make any set of clothes into a costume. It’ll be saving you money and time.
The most important thing to remember is that you will most likely over pack the first time you go to uni, don’t worry you’ll get the hang of it by your last year…
Good luck, and from the rest of us here at Tea Break, enjoy freshers week and your first year!
